I haven't looked into this for a while, but IIRC GBA screen swaps work like this: AGS-001 into AGB-001 won't work. AGS-101 into AGS-001 won't work. AGS-101 into AGB-001 will work, two versions of AGB-001 exist, version specific adapter cable required for swap.
Which Game Boy Advance Has The Brighter Screen? It is the AGS-101, which is the 2 nd revision of the GBA SP. AGS-001 is the first SP version and uses a front light that is external to the actual LCD panel. You can turn this front light on or off depending on the conditions in which you’re playing your Game Boy Advance.
It won’t work. The motherboard needs some serious modding to work with the backlit screen. Better option is to find a used AGS-101 motherboard. There are some on eBay. But I believe an AGS-101 motherboard plus new screen would cost you almost as used Gameboy. There’s no much sense in purchasing them separately.
Basically I would buy a 101 screen and put in on my AGS-001, is this possible and does it require any special thing like soldering or piece cutting…
Probably best to dab a clean cloth on it. If it’s just a bit of fluid pressed against the screen that’ll fix it no problem. 5 yr. ago. Might be kind of hard to tell in the picture, but it’s actually behind the glass and doesnt seem to be going anywhere.
